The mission of the
Michigan Institute for Safe Schools
& Communities is to help schools and communities establish and maintain safe school and community
environments for their children, because a safe environment is the cornerstone of effective teaching
and learning.
Located in the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Education's
Office for K-12 Outreach Programs, The MISSC is currently funded
through a grant from the Michigan Department of Community Health's
Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP).
